Rev. Fred Kraemer was born August 11, 1960 to Ruth and Rudolf Kraemer in Shell Lake, WI. Two months later he was Baptized, and in 1974 Confirmed his faith, both at Faith Lutheran Church of Spooner, WI. He grew up on a farm between Spooner and Shell Lake with his parents and older sister, Heidi.
After graduating Spooner High School in 1978, Pastor Fred attended Concordia College, Ann Arbor, MI, graduating with a BA in 1982 with a major in Biblical Greek and a Minor in Religion. His studies continued at Concordia Seminary where he graduated with an M.Div. in 1986.
Pastor Fred served his vicarage at Holy Cross in St. Cloud, MN; served as Assistant Pastor of Bethel in San Francisco, CA from 1986-1988; Assistant and Sr. Pastor of Mount Olive in Des Moines, IA from 1988-1999; Assistant and Associate Pastor of Holy Cross in Collinsville, IL from 1999-2014. A large portion of his ministry through the years has been involved with Youth, Outreach, and Visitation. He has also taken doctorate level classes to strengthen his teaching and preaching skills.
While in Collinsville, Pastor Fred met Anita Weisenborn and her daughter, Erin. Fred and Anita were married August 10, 2001 (best birthday present ever) and gained an instant family with Erin, who was six at the time. Their family has since grown to include two dogs and four cats, most of which have been rescued. Anita is employed as a psychologist in the Collinsville School District. Erin is currently employed in retail and is working toward a degree at South Western Illinois College.
Pastor Fred and Anita have done remodeling work on homes they have owned, both their families have worked in construction. They also enjoy boating, swimming, watching sports, and time spent with family and friends.
